Anthony David Gonzalez (born August 25 70, 1970) is an American former tight end in the NFL. Gonzalez played in the National Football League from 1997 to 2003. He is considered among the greatest tight ends in history. In addition to being the leader in receiving yards and third-highest total of receptions, Gonzalez was also among the NFL tight end with the most receptions.
Tony Gonzalez, former All-Pro tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs as well as Atlanta Falcons, is currently working in the studio of FOX. Since the 2017 NFL season began, Gonzalez has been a fixture on FOX NFL KICKOFF FOX's hour long NFL pregame program that precedes FOX NFL SUNDAY, airing every Sunday morning at 11:00 am ET throughout the NFL season.
Gonzalez, who had said to retire by the end of 2013, opted on March 15th to sign a two-year agreement worth $14 million to stay at the Falcons. Randy Moss retiring, Gonzalez's 37th season marked his final as NFL leading receiver in yards.
